Hands on Activity #2

Knowledge Management

Knowledge management is taking all the information that you have obtained and understood and applying that information to the point where it can be managed in a data base environment that will be useful within an organization. In an organizational context, data represents facts or values of results, and relations between data and other relations that have the capacity to represent information.

Knowledge management products help organizations build and maintain the best practices in knowledge management. Some popular products of knowledge management that companies are using today are digital asset management which allow users to maintain and access critical digital assets in a proper work flow and under appropriate heads, making it easier for other users to search. Another product, business process management sends a guide to the relevant back-office systems when a problem or exception occurs in order to tackle the ongoing challenges. Document management is also a product used in businesses.

Some companies that provide knowledge management products are IBM, Microsoft, Apple, IT consultant firms and business consultant firms.
